Nico Di Angelo I: Nico's Wrath
In the forgotten realms, a land that stretched as far as the material plane allowed it, there emerged three heroes driven by a lust for glory. the first of these heroes was Lycanus the Blood Hunter, an honorable hero who was called on to hunt what lurks in the shadows. he could undergo a special transformation to turn into a werewolf. for he was part of the order of the lycan, a powerful group of blood hunters who could transform into wild beasts. oh, and he could curse his enemies. he wielded a flaming longsword and a crossbow. the second hero was meng mei, a sneaky human rogue who was as quick as a cat, as clever as a jackal. he wielded two daggers and a shadow rapier. The second hero was a son of hades. he could summon the dead with the power of his stygian iron sword. and his name was Nico Di Angelo.
the adventure started when, out of the blue, Lycaon the first werewolf was awakened in a dark cave by cultists. Lycaon then struck out with his band of werewolves to Theros. meng heard of this unfortunate turn of events and decided to seek out Lycanus, hunter of werewolves. he found him in the ruins of a dark city. they negotiated. after a few minutes, Lycanus said, "I'll do it. it is my role to hunt what lurks in the shadows." meng said, "all right." "but we'll need someone else, too." Lycanus then beckoned to the ruins. a boy strolled out from behind the ruins. "this is Nico Di Angelo. he is a son of hades. he will help us." Nico shook hands with meng. he looked to be about fourteen years old. he had dark wavy hair. his eyes were sunken. his skin pressed against his ribcage. he looked like what a son of hades should look like. Nico studied meng. "so it's true. lycaon really has awakened." "yeah, I guess," said meng. Nico gave him a thin, creepy smile. "well, then you'll need me. I have a good connection with the dead." they then set off. they reached theros by midday. and lycaon was waiting for them.
he sprang, ready to shred the heroes apart. Nico drew a sword, made from a metal that gave off a faint, gloomy glow. he slashed at lycaon. lycaon dodged, and responded by slashing at Nico. Nico sliced at lycaon. lycaon sprang backward. Nico said, "come and get me. or are you going to stay like a good dog until your master finds you?" lycaon howled and sprang. Nico thrust his sword into the werewolf's chest. "be useful, dog," Nico snarled. "back to the shadows." lycaon disintegrated. his wolves fled. the heroes returned home.
